The
development of sportswear was going gradually but steadily, step by
step, it improved ancient things like tissue, technology and design.
The athletic
sportswear brands have appeared such as Reebok, Adidas, Puma and Nike.Their
recognized achievements meet the needs the stars of world sport and
ordinary people throughout the world. The Olympic movement makes manufacturers
invent new options for athletic clothing that help increase the physical
capabilities of champions. Transformation sportswear generates the
development
of individual sports. For example, there were narrow pants for playing
hockey at the beginning of the century. In the early 20's football
is becoming tougher and some kinds of shields were added to clothing to
protect hands and legs, and armor and a helmet appeared. Gym shorts
came into view as people can see in old photographs. The individual
sports
such as marathon need some changes like shorts and shirts without sleeves.
20-30 years of the 20 century had become a turning point in the history
of athletic sportswear. Physical activity is regarded as an ideal development
for human beings like in ancient times. Female beauty is not based
more on the toilet tricks - corsages, long voluminous dresses that
hide the
shape. Fashionable silhouette can now be achieved only through serious
efforts to improve the body based on gym and diet. For individual species,
destined for the elite (tennis, skiing), the famous fashion designer
creates exclusive things. In the 20 years of numerous Parisian fashion
houses opens offices of sportswear - Jean Lanvin, Jean Patou, Elsa
Schiaparelli and others. The famous champion Suzanne Lenglen shocked
the audience
at Wimbledon in 1919. Her little white dress with short sleeves from
Jean Patou was picked up later by all tennis players. Some sports disciplines
practiced in special circumstances, such as skis, generated new, specialized
things. In the 30 years skiers replaced the long skirts for sweatpants,
called Norwegian with wide trousers, strapped at the ankles knitted
ribbons. The transition to competitive swimming was accompanied by
adaptation
of form-fitting swimsuit jersey, formerly known as the circus costume
(for the first time such a model will put swimmers at the Olympic Games
in Stockholm in 1912). |
